The U.S. and Russia have 1,800 nuclear weapons ready to launch within minutes of being alerted of an attack. Keeping nuclear weapons on a hair-trigger alert is an urgent danger to all life on Earth, particularly in the event of a false or accidental warning. In May 2015, during the United Nations Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) Review Conference, we joined Global Zero in calling on world leaders to eliminate Cold War-era practices like “launch-on-warning”.
We stand in solidarity with anti-nuke activists around the world.
We oppose the use of nuclear weapons.
